A Morning Drive To Work

An early rising to earth's sweet song, the clock's constant buzzing won't leave me alone. I roll out of bed and start to pray, Be with me Lord throughout the day. I start the shower and from it take in the steam, And start to ponder about recent dreams. As the smell of coffee flows through my home, I'm preparing myself for adventures unknown. What could it be that I shall find? Confusion begins to cloud my mind. To work I go and during this drive, I notice earth's beauty as I ride. Thinking of the best way to show, Who I am and the things I know. I often wonder, what is my purpose? But with patience I wait for the meaning to surface. Frustrating it gets and hard sometimes, Waiting for guidance to ease my mind. Onto the lot I finally arrive, hopefully I'll end this day knowing I've tried.

My fingers touch the keys made of silky ivory, and as soon as I begin to play, I am simply blown away. I never knew that something like this could bring me so much happiness. It's like I'm floating in the clouds with beautiful, magical, soothing sounds. To ease my pain, to cease the rain, I touch those keys and play a masterpiece. And for an instant, I'm convinced that as soon as I play happiness will come my way.

My Inspiration

Poetry is the art of rhythmical composition, written or spoken, for exciting pleasure by beautiful, imaginative, or elevated thoughts. Literary work in metrical form; verse. Prose with poetic qualities. Poetic qualities however manifested: the poetry of simple acts and things. Poetic spirit or feeling: The pianist played the prelude with poetry. Something suggestive of or likened to poetry: The pure poetry of a beautiful view on a clear day.
